。。。more

Looks like this is the end to this arc。 Tsubasa is long from over。

There are a few things I'm disappointed in。 The first one being that there's no more Tsubasa and that's heartbreaking。 The next is the misprint on the back of the book that says Watanuki and Fai are rejected by the tree instead of Kurogane。 Lastly I just think that this storyline would have been better if it had been stretched out through more mangas。 It had an interesting story concept but only being able to have three mangas made it feel a little rushed。 I wanted to see more sides of how the g There are a few things I'm disappointed in。 The first one being that there's no more Tsubasa and that's heartbreaking。 The next is the misprint on the back of the book that says Watanuki and Fai are rejected by the tree instead of Kurogane。 Lastly I just think that this storyline would have been better if it had been stretched out through more mangas。 It had an interesting story concept but only being able to have three mangas made it feel a little rushed。 I wanted to see more sides of how the group acted now that their new journey had begun and Sakura was no longer with them along with their new personalities after all the trials and tribulations of the original run。 Maybe one day we'll be lucky enough to get another adventure from clamp。 。。。more

Pulling those heartstrings as usual, CLAMP! Shoaran is going to need some serious therapy after all this is said and done, lol。I really liked how they did this volume, though there were elements of the plot that I didn't quite get。 It's possible that those elements would be explained in later volumes, but considering CLAMP hasn't written those yet, I've no idea, and so a 4-star rating this will be。 The connections to xxxHolic Rei continue to be satisfying and help explain that series as well! So the Nirai Kanai story was pretty bizarre。 I had trouble following what was going on, but generally I liked it。

(2019 reread) this might end with a party and a special delivery for a certain Daddy, but certain children have been waiting way to long to see their counterparts - and each other。 oh Syaoran and Watanuki, my poor sweet boys - this was so damn sad。 I hope the adventure does continue, as the end of TRC and now, TWC says, because namesakes need finding and someone who has been waiting a long time needs to see the one he loves again。
Sherri,
I was a bit disappointed with the end of this series。 It felt rushed, and honestly, so much of it was just seriously confusing。 I did enjoy seeing Kurogane and Fai being super protective, and I thought that the idea of Syaoran
having to fight Syaoran to bring the dead back to life
was very interesting, but。。。 It wasn't quite enough to save it for me。Bless Watanuki, though。 He was the whole reason I read this mess。 I was a bit disappointed with the end of this series。 It felt rushed, and honestly, so much of it was just seriously confusing。 I did enjoy seeing Kurogane and Fai being super protective, and I thought that the idea of Syaoran
having to fight Syaoran to bring the dead back to life
was very interesting, but。。。 It wasn't quite enough to save it for me。Bless Watanuki, though。 He was the whole reason I read this mess。 。。。more

I think CLAMP should stick to making three volume long stories/sequels。 Clearly that's the only thing they're capable of these days。 The chances of them dropping CCS again are only 50/50 tho, cause it seems like that series is the only one they truly love 。。。 Me? NEVER!Okay, I got sidetracked for a moment there。This last volume fit seamlessly into the two that came before: The focus was on Shaolan and his inner turmoil。 He had some awfully hard decisions to make and we got a good view into his heart and desires - I for one was genuinly surprised to see that the person he wanted to see the most wasn't whom I expected。The art style was great。 Still not my favorite CLAMP style overall, but the overall noodleness and the thick outlines look more balanced now than they did at the start of TRC。I enjoyed reading this sort-of-sequel, but with a heavy heart, I'm giving this "only" three stars (it's not a bad rating), because while I do love Shaolan a lot, I was really disappointed that Kurogane and Fai were not even secondary characters, but almost side characters in this volume。 They basically didn't do anything but look worried for Shaolan and be a bit cute in the end。It's possible that CLAMP originally planned to make an arc for each of the three (+ maybe Mokona?), but since they're suffering from a bad case of "Oh, shiny!", I'm less forgiving in this case。Also have to admit that the ghost girl character got really annoying in the end and they could have held back a teeny tiny bit with the "OMG Shaolan is so STRONG!"。All in all I don't regretting buying this story arc, but I don't know how often I'll re-read it。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I really enjoyed the character development and conflict Syaoran went through in this volume。 Syaoran has always been my favorite CLAMP character because he's the classic hero: noble, honest, brave, and kind。 In some parts he's a little unbelievable in his heroism, but that's what's made him so endearing。 He's Syaoran the Hero and no one can beat him! But。。。I really liked how CLAMP addressed how tired Syaoran is。 He's on a quest to not only find a way to be with Sakura and fix the paradox, but also to save the clones。 And he's tired of fighting。 And the fact that the focus went on him and this desire of his, then thrusting him back into the hero-saves-the-day role and watching him struggle with it was really refreshing。 My particularly favorite moment was when he was in the Utaki with clone!Syaoran and he finds out he has to not only fight him, but kill him, and that sends him over the edge。 As badass as Syaoran can be, he's ultimately a pacifist and asking him to make this huge sacrifice for the greater good really wears on him and tests him。 I loved the raw grief and anger and frustration he showed, since Syaoran is NEVER these things。 He's always optimistic and puts on a smile for everyone else and is known to shoulder the burden and carry on。 It definitely made him more believable as a hero to show the toll being the hero really takes on him and the sacrifice that he has to make。 Definitely one of my favorites Tsubasa moments out of this series and Reservoir Chronicle put together。I'm really sad that the World Chronicle series ends with this book。 It definitely doesn't seem like the story is over--far from it, actually。 There's still so much to do and Syaoran is JUST NOW really getting to develop as a character! For it to end here is tragic。 I definitely need more from this series! I'm wondering if it got cancelled because there wasn't enough interest in it, or if CLAMP just intended to write these three manga volumes and be done with Tsubasa forever。 Let's hope not! 。。。more

Short opinion piece, not a review。Considering the choices of hero throughout Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE the plot/character arc with Clamp's follow-up felt jarring and out of sync for me as a reader。 Syaoran's pursuit of mirror Syaoran in spite of the consequences he is living with from the initial time warp and following butterfly-effect is not a decision I agree with but I do acknowledge it is his (read: Clamp's) decision to make。 Tsubasa is Clamp's playground but I don't know if I would reco Short opinion piece, not a review。Considering the choices of hero throughout Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE the plot/character arc with Clamp's follow-up felt jarring and out of sync for me as a reader。 Syaoran's pursuit of mirror Syaoran in spite of the consequences he is living with from the initial time warp and following butterfly-effect is not a decision I agree with but I do acknowledge it is his (read: Clamp's) decision to make。 Tsubasa is Clamp's playground but I don't know if I would recommend the companion series。 (RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE held me in an almost unnatural thrall - maybe because of the constrast to CardCaptor or perhaps because of how T:RC fit with xxxHolic plot wise。) 。。。more

*4。5*Not as great as the first series, in my opinion, but I'm still really glad I had the chance to read this。 I definitely get the feeling there will be more to this universe, but I feel like I have to read other series like XXX Holic Rei or something like that (which kind of sucks, because I didn't really like XXX Holic that much, but what can you do?) I want to know what Fai's third favor was。 Don't tease me like that。 *4。5*Not as great as the first series, in my opinion, but I'm still really glad I had the chance to read this。 I definitely get the feeling there will be more to this universe, but I feel like I have to read other series like XXX Holic Rei or something like that (which kind of sucks, because I didn't really like XXX Holic that much, but what can you do?) My heart broke a little in the Utaki。 Make that a lot。 All of the tropes associated with TrC are there, the art is gorgeous as always, and the story looks promising !
Stacy,
I enjoyed this。 The art was beautiful。 It fell on the same tropes that I've come to associate specially to Tsubasa so I feel that this both ensured my appreciation of it, and diminished my hope of something shocking/new。 I'm very fond of this series and I do relish having the continued adventures of these characters。 But as for their development, there has not been much added。 I enjoyed this。 The art was beautiful。 It fell on the same tropes that I've come to associate specially to Tsubasa so I feel that this both ensured my appreciation of it, and diminished my hope of something shocking/new。 I'm very fond of this series and I do relish having the continued adventures of these characters。 But as for their development, there has not been much added。 。。。more
